Binghamton crew is a student-run rowing club that operates under the auspices of the Club Sports Department at Binghamton University. Although classified as a club team, we work just as hard as varsity programs, waking up at five am six days a week to practice at our boathouse in Owego, NY. Our team is made up of a men’s and women’s program, guided by our experienced and dedicated volunteer coaches: Bob Emerson, Denise Aquino’11, Patty Benda ‘03, and Chris Carpenter ‘10. In addition to our wonderful coaching staff, Bill Butler ’99, the team’s boat master, provides the team with a wealth of knowledge and skill in the art of maintaining the competitive condition of all our racing equipment. Besides succeeding on rivers and lakes across America, our rowers excel on campus and in the classroom as well. Our team is made up of numerous Dean’s List recipients, resident hall assistants, teaching assistants, tour guides and a myriad of other leadership positions; cementing Binghamton Crew’s place as the top club sport on campus. With every mile run, stroke taken, weight lifted, friendships formed, and memories made; the Binghamton Crew Family hopes to continue our storied success and tradition.
