Binghamton Crew is the student-run rowing club that operates under the auspices of Club Sports at Binghamton University. Six days a week we wake up at 5am and practice on the Susquehanna River near Owego, NY. Although our racing seasons are in the Fall and the Spring, our training doesn't skip a beat during the Winter. We utilize the erg room and the racquetball courts during our off-season. Even though we're not a Division 1 sport, we practice just as hard. Thanks to our volunteer coaches Dr. Bob Emerson, Dan Hogan, and Bill Butler '99, our hard work is not without success. Every season our boats face D1 crews who recruit their own rowers, and we succeed. Our accomplishments on the water transcend to success here at the University. We're the recipient of many XCELsior awards including two-time Outstanding Student Organization of the Year and three-time Fundraising Effort of the Year. Our biggest fundraiser, John J. McKenna IV Memorial 5K, is one of the biggest student-run, off campus events. Beyond our involvement in crew, our rowers still find time to be RAs, TAs, double-majors (even a few triple-majors), student ambassadors, tutors, volunteers, and active members of the Southern Tier community.
